“Xiaomi TV Master Mini LED 86″: 144Hz Refresh Rate and 6,700,000:1 Contrast Ratio”

Redmi and Xiaomi's new Smart TV

Xiaomi has unveiled a number of new products in addition to the new 13 Ultra, with the Xiaomi TV Master Mini LED 86′′ being the most intriguing. As the name implies, it is the most expensive TV option offered by the corporation.

The Mini LED panel, which is still only available on high-end TVs like Apple’s MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, is of course the star of this 86-inch 4K model. It has 1080 diodes and uses a proprietary algorithm to deliver local dimming, giving OLED TV deep blacks without the risk of burn-in.

According to Xiaomi, the screen has a contrast ratio of 6,700,000:1, a 178-degree viewing angle, and an amazing 2,000 nits of peak brightness. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate. Of course, it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, but it also has the IMAX Enhanced seal of approval.

Xiaomi also boasts 99% DCI-P3 broad color gamut coverage and a delta E (dE) error figure of roughly 0.8, both of which are professional-grade color accuracy standards. Similar to the Apple TV 4K and a compatible iPhone, users can do color calibration using a compatible Xiaomi smartphone (now just the 13 Ultra). Additionally, a built-in light sensor ensures more uniform color gradation regardless of the lighting.

The TV Master Mini LED’s audio system consists of six speakers—two in each corner and two in the middle—a 20W subwoofer, two passive radiators, and two passive speakers for a total output of 70W. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported. Four Cortex A73 cores, a Mali G52 (2EE) MC1 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage power the entire system. The system is MIUI for TV, designed for the Chinese market.

Additionally, the TV Master Mini LED has WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, Miracast, and AirPlay support, the latter of which enables screen mirroring for iPhone and Mac devices. Additionally, there are two USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet port, three HDMI ports (including one eARC port), three USB 2.0 ports, and an optical audio port.

The Xiaomi TV Master Mini LED 86″ costs a hefty RMB 15,999 (about RM10,311) in China, but Xiaomi at least includes free customized installation. However, that is far less expensive than a comparable TV from a major manufacturer, such as the RM26,999 model. 85′′ Sony Bravia XR X95K.
