Hannah avoids her drunk boss | Chapter 12

Hannah was quite disturbed after experiencing Andrew’s weird action.

She was quite comfortable with a boss who likes to aid workload on his subordinates but sincerely hated those who tried to take advantage of his female subordinates.

Andrew’s todays behavior made her frustrated. She wanted to shove him but couldn’t. He was drunk and this was his first time to use such word. Moreover, he didn’t use any vulgar or outrageous words for her.

She didn’t make a fuss and left the dining hall. It was quite late and she also had a few sips of alcohol, thinking it was not a safe time to drive, she checked her mobile to book a ride but coincidentally her mobile was out of battery. She headed back to the reception to request to book a ride for her but as soon as she reached the reception, she heard a voice behind her.

“Miss Morphis, are you leaving? Do you have a ride? It’s very late now, let me drop you.” Hannah turned back to see the person.

Andrew was standing with one hand in his trouser pocket. At this moment, he was looking absolutely severe and sober. Hannah was confused to see him like this. She thought, was it her illusion a few minutes ago? But she had really heard his weird words.

She subconsciously looked into his eyes, there was indeed something odd, his gaze was not like as always, there’s really something weird.

“Mr. Rust, thanks for your offer, but I have a ride.” She politely refused his offer.

She did not want to take any kind of risk. She didn’t know how to reject someone’s kindness but at this moment this was the only sentence she could think.

“Are you sure, you aren’t lying, Right?” Andrew Rust asked with a smirk.

“Of course, why will I lie? Hannah retorted.

“Oh if that’s the case then let me accompany you till your ride comes.” Saying this, Andrew turned and headed towards the exit. Hannah helplessly followed behind. Only she knew how much she wanted to avoid her drunk boss, she couldn’t refuse his offer of help nor did she let him accompany her for a long time.

But she had made up her mind that as soon as she finds any car at the exit, she would catch it to get a lift to the outside of the hotel.

Fortunately, as soon as she arrived at the exit, a car coming out of the basement parking of the hotel, caught her attention. She noticed a familiar person sitting on the driver’s seat, she immediately rushed forward, waved her hands to stop the car and just as the car came to a halt, without any delay, she quickly opened the door of the passenger seat and threw herself inside.

“Could you please drop me anywhere outside the hotel.” She spoke in a low and pleading tone.

Doris Bills looked at her and found it strange how could she suddenly barked in his car.

“Excuse me?”

“I’m in a difficult situation, I need your help only to get out of this premises.” Hanna requested again.

Finding her in a dishevelled situation, Doris Bills didn’t inquire anything, he pressed his foot at the accelerator and drove.

As soon as their car got out of the hotel, Hannah heaved a sigh of relief, she looked at Dori Bills and said, “Thanks for your help, you can drop me here. I’ll catch a cab.” As soon as their car got out of the hotel, Hannah heaved a sigh of relief, she looked at Dori Bills and said, “Thanks for your help, you can drop me here. I’ll catch a cab.”

“You are not in a condition to go alone. Tell me your address.” Doris Bills asked in a domineering tone.

“Mr. Bills, please stop the car, I can manage,” Hannah said, irritated. She was already frustrated due to the strange behavior of Andrew Rust, now this Mr. Bills was behaving unreasonably.

Doris Bills suddenly pressed the brakes, and shouted,

“Miss Morphis, get down. You are really good at burning the bridge after crossing it. Just now for escaping an odd situation you took my help. You were so desperate to run away from the hotel that you didn’t wait for a cab. Now you are showing your confidence. What if the person from whom you have just gotten rid of, shows up here? do you have the courage to get out of that situation?” Doris Bills asked raising his eyebrows.

Hannah became speechless after hearing his question. Indeed, she wasn’t sure about what to do if the same situation occurs again.

“Rise Apartments at road no. 95, Northern area.” She replied without raising her eyes.

After knowing the address, Doris Bills didn’t say anything else, he started the engine and drove the car towards the destination.

It was not that he didn’t know her address but he did not want to reveal it in front of her.

Within 20 minutes, Doris Bills stopped his car outside the ‘Rise Apartments,’ “Thank you for today. I’ll buy you a cup of coffee someday.” Hannah said while unbuckling the seat belt.

“It’s not that late even today if you sincerely want to return my favor.” Doris Bills retorted.

Listening to his reply, Hannah became speechless. She just casually said those words, she didn’t think that he would take her words that seriously.

Hannah heaved a sigh of relief, a few moments ago in order to return his help she was really about to invite him for a cup of coffee at her apartment. Fortunately, he himself drove off and saved her from trouble.

The next day…..Andrew was flustered due to his behaviour with Hannah last night. He had a high tolerance for liquor but he didn’t know why he lost his composure the previous night after having only a few glasses of wine. He scared her. Maybe she won’t come office today.

He was drowned in thoughts that he heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.” He said.

Hannah came inside, holding a file in her hand.

“Good Morning sir,  this is the addendum of the contract. The delegates have sent this for us to have a look at before the final draft. I have already seen and underlined a few contradictions. Please have a look before sending it back.” Hannah said without looking at him.

She put the file on the table and turned to leave.

“I’m sorry.” Andrew’s voice rang in her ears.

She turned in disbelief. The CEO of Imperial Group has actually apologised to a humble employee.

“What?” She spat in confusion.

“I’m sorry for my indecent behaviour last night,” Andrew said, apologetically.

“It’s ok, maybe you had drunk a lot last night, please control your intake of liquor, it is not good to lose your composure,” Hannah replied in a low voice. As a subordinate, she couldn’t reprimand him directly.

“I’ll take note and control my drinking habit in future. I don’t clearly remember what have I done to you last night but I can assure you that it won’t be repeated in future.” Andrew said with a flush face.

It was not a big thing if he had been overboard with any other person but he couldn’t lose his face in front of Hannah. He has to keep her on his side to achieve a big goal.

“Please have a look to the file and find me if you want to change any clause.” Hannah changed the topic. She didn’t want to drag this matter anymore.

“Ok.” Saying this Andrew Rust picked up the file and started to flip the pages. Hanna didn’t stay there any longer and left.

After coming out of Andrew’s office, Hannah took a deep breath. It took her a lot of courage to face him just now. Initially she thought to send the file with Anna but then she decided to face him herself.

He was her boss, she can’t avoid to face him in routine. Since she had to face him regularly so she thought it better to make things clear. But she didn’t know that Andrew Rust would admit his mistake and would take the step to apologise her.

Doris Bills was on inspection. He was examining profiles of new candidates. Special Army recruits only commandoes who had served all three forms of defence services. These candidates were already experienced in land, navy and air force. After going through a few profiles he selected profiles of five candidates and said to Wilson Brown, “Send them for gorilla training, dismiss the rest all.” Saying this he left the screening room.

As soon as he came out his mobile started ringing, he picked up the call, “What’s the news?” He asked without looking at the screen.

“Chief, Miss Morphis was flirted by Andrew Rust in the banquet last night.” The informer conveyed a detailed report.
