Launch and Price | Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be launched on July 17, 2024. There will be at least two versions of the bike. The base version is expected to be priced between Rs 2.2 lakh to Rs 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The top version might cost about Rs 10,000 more. For comparison, the Himalayan 450 costs between Rs 2.85 lakh to Rs 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).

Engine and Design

The Guerrilla 450 will use the same engine as the Himalayan 450, which is a 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine makes 40PS and 40Nm in the Himalayan, but it might be slightly changed for the Guerrilla.

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has a simpler front-end design. It has a conventional telescopic fork with gaiters instead of an inverted fork. The headlight cowl, windscreen, and metal tank braces are removed, making the front lighter and cheaper. The wheels are smaller, 17 inches on both ends, and have Ceat Gripp XL tubeless tyres. The seat is a single-piece unit. These changes help reduce the price.

Features of the Lower Variant

The lower version of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has a semi-digital instrument cluster. It offers an optional Tripper display for turn-by-turn navigation, but no smartphone connectivity unless you choose the navigation pod. This version comes in a single-tone paint scheme and does not have Eco & Performance riding modes or ABS modes. These changes help lower the price compared to the Himalayan.

Features of the Top Variant

The top version has a few extra features, making it slightly more expensive. These features include a full TFT display with Google Maps navigation, riding modes, ABS modes, and dual-tone paint schemes.

Pricing Strategy

The price difference between the two versions will not be huge, but enough to separate them. The small price difference might encourage someone to choose the higher version for more features. This strategy is common in the tech industry.

Comparison with Triumph Speed 400

The Triumph Speed 400 is currently offered with a discount of Rs 10,000, making its price Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be launched to compete with the Speed 400 and is expected to have an aggressive launch price to attract buyers.
