Chandrika Tandon Wins First Grammy for Triveni

Indian-American vocalist and entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon won her first Grammy for her album Triveni in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category. The award was shared with her collaborators—South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.

This was Tandon’s second Grammy nomination, following Soul Call in 2009.

Who is Chandrika Tandon?

Chandrika Tandon is a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and musician. She is the founder and chair of Krishnamurthy Tandon Foundation and Tandon Capital Associates.

She studied at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and Madras Christian College. She is also the older sister of Indra Nooyi, former PepsiCo CEO.

Tandon started her career at McKinsey & Co., where she became one of the earliest and youngest partners. Later, she founded her own advisory firm, Tandon Capital Associates, based in New York.

She has received several awards, including:

  • The Gallatin Medal, NYU’s highest honor
  • The Walter Nichols Medal for leadership and integrity

Through her non-profit music label, Soul Chants Music, she has released six albums:
