Some Movie Talks

James Gunn gave details related to Superman 2025

James Gunn: There’s going to be a new Superman, but nobody knows exactly what kind of Superman he will be. The comic book Superman, who was ultimately going to die, served as its influence. This may be understood from the logo on his outfit.

The next film featuring DC’s 25-year-old Superman has a new title as well. Superman Legacy was the film’s previous title; it is currently just called Superman. It makes sense that James Gunn is the cause for the title change in this film. If they use the word Legacy, fans can add their own theories, but based on the information that has been released thus far, it appears that a new DC superhero universe is in the works. Despite the lack of an official first look or teaser, James Gunn’s tweets have led us to believe that the Superman movie will directly affect the whole DC Universe.

The movie is currently in production, with David Corenswet starring as Superman. During this time, the character’s logo was created, drawing inspiration from the character’s costume from Kingdom Come. However, this is not the only instance of Superman drawing inspiration from this source.

In addition, I’d want to briefly discuss Kingdom Come with you. This world follows an Elseworlds plot in which Superman and the Justice League have abandoned their jobs. In the meantime, a new superhero known as Magog has gained popularity. Magog attacks Parasite, who then defeats Captain Atom by uncovering him. As a result, radiation poisoning spreads throughout the American Middle East, killing millions of people and ruining the country’s food supply. Following all of these events, Superman reappears, assembles his crew, and locks up the Meta Humans who use improper techniques.

Now obviously this will not be the exact storyline of James Gunn’s upcoming movie, but the thing to note is that Kingdom Come’s Superman is old and James Gunn’s Superman is still young, so there can be changes in the story, but looking at the casting, this It seems that there may be similarities with the storyline of Kingdom Come’s Superman.

Hawk Girl, Mr. Terrific, Green Lantern, and Metamorpho are among the cast members. James Gunn claims that the fact that there are so many superheroes suggests that Superman will have a team. All-Star Superman, who existed in the Superman comics but without a team and exemplified pure humanity, served as the model for this movie. My favorite Superman is still All-Star Superman, and yes, there is a parallel between All-Star Superman and Superman from Kingdom Come in that they both place a great priority on humanity.

From this, we now know that the upcoming Superman film will establish the new DC universe. If we examine the cast, we find that Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern, which will set up the Lantern series, The Engineer, the movie’s antagonist, who will set up The Authority, and Super Girl, who will set up Super Girl Woman of Tomorrow, are also included. Now that the DCEU has announced its three set-up casting news pieces, it is clear what the forthcoming universe’s plot will entail.

Thus, while the Justice League is being assembled, the stage is also being set for the film’s sequel, in which The Engineer will play the antagonist.

As you are aware, the Superman movie’s casting has previously been discussed. While some fans felt that the casting was excessive, James Gunn responded by saying that each character played a crucial part in the film.

The slate of writers attached to the next DC Universe is impressive; among them are Jeremy Slater, who has worked on Godzilla x Kong, Moon Knight, and Umbrella Academy, and Drew Goddard, who was the showrunner of Netflix’s Daredevil. Tom King, the renowned comic book writer, and Christina Hodson, the screenwriter of Bumblebee, Birds of Prey, and The Flash, are also engaged. Such a fantastic writing team, who wouldn’t want it? I am eager to witness James Gunn’s vision of the future DC Universe in this film.
